The Night Before Christmas in 1956

Oh, the joys of being a child! I can remember this Christmas as if it were yesterday. My family (aunts, uncles, cousins) all gathered at my Grandmother's house and spent the night. Her house was so small but we all managed to fit in. We were allowed to open only one gift on Christmas eve...usually pajamas so we would look good for pictures the next morning! I don't remember getting much sleep because every little sound we heard just had to be Santa. We were awakened the next morning by an enormous "ho, ho, ho!" but got held up at the door while the folks got the cameras ready. We were blinded by all of those old flash bulbs and could barely see what Old St. Nick had left!
Caryn, Jimmy, and Kathy gazing at the beautiful (and real) tree. Check out that old TV! Align Center
Caryn and Kathy...we couldn't wait to tear into those presents. I don't know where my brother (Donny) was. He probably wasn't a "believer" at this point and therefore left out of the pics!!!!!!
Did you hear that?
