Charleston, South Carolina: the most magnificent city of the Old South! The girls and I took a long weekend and indulged ourselves in some good old Southern charm. Charleston is full of beautiful old homes, gardens, churches, and historic sights. This is just a few of my favorite things.

St. Michaels

Ft. Sumter where the first shot of the Civil War was fired.

The "Dead End" alley where many duels were fought.

So many beautiful old homes.

The Old Slave Mart where the slaves were bought and sold.

Beautiful window boxes just lined the streets.

The gardens

The old cemeteries

I think this cemetery was for short people!

The fountains!

My favorite...for you fans (LeAnn) of the mini series NORTH AND SOUTH with Patrick Swayze. This is Mt. Royal!!!!!!

The slave quarters

and the beautiful Live Oak trees.

Yep, we got caught up in it!
